Why did you choose the Degree Link Route?

I chose this route because it was open to me. When I applied to study at NESCol I did not initially realise I could progress to complete a Degree. After successfully completing my HND I really valued the opportunity to study at a higher level.

What has been the best thing about the experience?

The transition from College to University was challenging but, without a doubt, expanded my horizons and made me think deeply about my practice. This has benefited my work tremendously.

What's the best thing about studying at NESCol?

The lecturers in the Photography department were excellent. They encouraged me to learn and maintain a high standard in my work. I feel College gave me a really solid practical foundation for my craft and helped me to grow as a person.

What's the best thing about studying at RGU?

At RGU I was encouraged to find context — to understand why I took photographs and consider their relevance. I was challenged academically and was able to marry my practice with really meaningful projects. I have thoroughly enjoyed the interaction I have had with both my lecturers and fellow students and feel these relationships will continue to be relevant to any future work I may produce.

Would you recommend Degree Link to other students? Why?

Absolutely. College and University study enable you to have a really rich and balanced learning experience. You gain skills in both practical and academic arenas. In order to grow both personally and in skill, we need to be stretched. I can't tell you how satisfying it was to receive a Degree at the end of it, and know I earned it!
