Library

As of September 2013 the University book collection will be held in the brand new purpose–build facility within our riverside campus in Garthdee. The library not only hosts a wide range of books and journals but also provides the students with a fast access to databases, ebooks and other online resources. Students can make use of the quiet study areas, meeting rooms for group work, IT and printing facilities as well as the wireless internet access.

IT

There are approximately 2,500 IT workstations that serve a user population of around 9,000 full–time students and 1,500 members of staff. All users have access to file storage, print facilities, Internet access and email facilities. To support teaching and research activities we also deliver several hundred software applications which can be accessed from any workstation in the University. Wireless and printing facilities are also on offer throughout the University.

Multimedia

Students can refine their design and communication skills in the realistic surroundings of the TV and radio studio, digital editing facilities and an iMac suite, as well as the Green Screen Suite used in multimedia video production.

RGU:SPORT

RGU:SPORT is based in the heart of our riverside campus in Garthdee and it boasts world class sporting facilities. As well as a swimming pool, climbing wall and three gyms, you can make use of a range of classes on offer — whatever your fitness level. Associate students of RGU are entitled to the same discounted student membership prices as registered students!

Catering

We have a wide range of catering outlets across campus to suit all needs. There is a Subway at Aberdeen Business School and range of coffee and food outlets across the site. This includes Costa, Starbucks and Cafeology. Most outlets are open from 8.30am each day and have a variety of food and drink to suit all needs. A cashless card system is also in operation to save you always having to take cash with you.

Clinical Skills Centre

The Clinical Skills Centre — in the Faculty of Health and Social Care — is a purpose built teaching and training facility. It provides health care students and professionals with a realistic and safe environment to practice their clinical skills. The Centre is equipped with state of the art digital media equipment (SMOTS) and a wide variety of mannequins and training models including; Sim man, Paediatric Hal and Noelle birthing mannequin. The Clinical Skills Centre comprises a ward area, a home setting, a radiography suite, physiotherapy rooms, a simulated community pharmacy and pharmacy laboratory and a human performance laboratory.

Moot Court

The Moot Court at Aberdeen Business School provides a realistic setting in which law students are offered the opportunity to practise their mooting skills by arguing fictional cases. Feedback from our students indicates they find the experience both invaluable and enjoyable. The Moot Court is sited within a purpose–built TV studio and is fitted with court–room furniture and recording equipment allowing the moots to be documented and used as teaching aids.
