Entering further education can have a considerable effect on people's lives. You may have lots of questions that you want to ask before you apply for a place on a course, and there may be a time during your study when you will seek information and advice from a confidential and reliable source. Whatever it is, our Student Services team is in place to help, offering extensive support and guidance for all students at North East Scotland College.

In our Aberdeen City Campus you'll find out Student Services Reception just next to the entrance to our South Block. In our Fraserburgh Campus, you'll find Student Services situated in the main atrium beside the refectory. Colleagues from Student Services regularly visit Altens as well — details of these visits are detailed on StudentNet or are available via the Guidance Teams. The Learning Development Team

Although some students may not require additional support above and beyond what is provided within the College's inclusive learning environment, some students may have additional learning or support needs. Help is available, and our Student Services Team is in place to point you in the direction of expert advisers who can issue individual advice and talk you through the various support options available.

Funding

Many students will not require any support above and beyond that which is provided within the College's inclusive learning environment. However, if you have additional learning or support needs, and would like to know about additional help that could be available to you, please contact the Student Services reception in the south block of the Aberdeen City Campus, telephone: 01224 612284. Our receptionists will put you in contact with a member of Student Services.

International Guidance Tutor

Our Student Advisers offer professional and impartial advice to all current and prospective students about student funding, childcare and financially related matters. They can advise you on eligibility and guide you through the application process for:

  • FE/HE Funding
  • Childcare
  • Benefits
  • Any additional funding available

Students' Association

You will find Students' Association offices at all three of the main NESCol campuses, and will be able to contact your student representatives about a range of matters relating to your time at College.

The Students' Association realise that the most important thing about College is about gaining a qualification, furthering your education and gearing up for employment, but they also realise it's about experience the range of new and exciting opportunities that come along with being a student.

The Students' Association therefore have countless student–led groups and campaigns for you to get involved in, and you'll find that throughout the year they organise a jam–packed timetable of events and projects; from sports and cultural activities to charity fundraisers. This gives you the chance to learn new skills, gain work experience and boost your CV all whilst spending time with enthusiastic, like–minded people and forming lifelong friendships.
